Mexico Real Del Sol Development, Tecamac
Available to families who are earning less than $700 USD per month, each home comes with a Mexican Texa PC with internet connection included in the purchase price. Internet connectivity for these homes are only $18 USD per month which includes an email account, a security system, and a neighbourhood portal. With over 1/3 of the homes already sold, demand is already exceeding expectations.
The developers, Real Paraiso, have put great effort into providing families with inexpensive housing that can be of an attractive nature, good quality, environmentally friendly, and technologically advanced. The housing development has wireless and connective features which include a designated website for the community to enable local interaction with neighbours to allow online purchasing from local shops and businesses, internal communication among neighbours in the community, and an impressive security system that can be accessed online. Not only does the development enable neighbours to connect with each other, the technology also supports local businesses within the area.
The online security system throughout the community may be accessed by residents, where they can check any number of cameras located throughout the common areas of the neighbourhood, to watch their front door of their home, or check their children playing in the nearby playground.

Some such support has been given by President Fox, and also Microsoft who were keen to offer promotional support and reduced prices for computer and internet hardware and software. The Mexican federal government have also endorsed Real Del Sol as an excellent role model for future similar developments which focus on providing quality and safe affordable low-income housing.
